Mould Progress Pics.. Toyota AE86

I just found these photos!
They are almost the same, but just in different stages.. [i like being able to see from start to finish]
This was the AE86FB.

Raw plug - finished and ready to be moulded

Painted black 2k

Wah no gelcoat pics.. ok so we are missing a step of tooling gel but im sure we all know that..

First layer 300CSM down + tooling bog/chopped fibres.
Fully laid up

Memories: The build of one of our first sponsor cars =^-^=

ill also throw in some plug pictures of this bar in plug form - it was our own design, built from scratch and then adapted to other cars.. it was originally built on the R33 Skyline, then the second car it was developed for was the 180SX. Here we took prettymuch the bottom half of the 33 bar, and chopped/modded/blended it with the top of a 180SX bar .. it takes longer than it sounds.. lol. Then we smoothed prepped and moulded, etc, the usual process..

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we got the car in and it was full kit all round - front bar, widebody front gaurds, sideskirts, widebody rear gaurds, and rear bar. [headlight cover too maybe at one point?] Pulled all the panels off and grinded out the rear gaurds and tacked for pumping.

Trial fitting of all panels then started prepping for paint

Pretty sure this was Mazda3 yellow? Or maybe Madza6. Some Mazda paint anyways lol.

Stickers down then magenta black and white airbrushed over

After removing the stickers

TANKITY TANK TANK

All finished, car complete :)

Pre-Paint is Sexyy

As i always say, cars look ten times better BEFORE paint becuase you can actually see the work that has been put into them.. i mean dont get me wrong, paint can make things look a million dollars, but can also be quite deceiving!~

A couple of examples of stuff we've worked on.. pre and post paint =^-^=

Seanys Widebody Ford TX3 [omgg the tx3 with the white bonnet yulleh, as it used to be known, haha :)  ]

And finished..

Jeffs R33 Skyline [the one we started the widebody on that we never got to finish, it just ended up with standard GTR pumps i think from memory.. ]

And finished..

One of our sponsored cars

And finished..

ill add more as i come across them :)

MFX 180sx Wide Gaurds [fronts]

Alrighty so these were the gaurds that started everything... there are no sets left in circulation and the mould has been destroyed.. [after i made this discovery that those moulds were gone and i only has the 180sx wise sports gaurd moulds instead.. imagine the biggest temper tantrum youve seen a child throw.. that was me.. fucking... my precious moulds.. i NEVER wanted to let those go.. :( .. it physically hurt in my stomach and chest everytime i thought about those moulds for like.. days] then those sets eventually got written off, the last set of all actually was on the original car it was made on, but the car was sold and then acco then the gaurds were gone =[
god they were hot though.  cant seem to find a pic of them finished and painted.. will keep looking. this was the making of the plugs.. 40mm pump.

Memories: Container Arrival

we waited SO LONG for this container to come in >_<
i didnt quite know what to expect as when we packed the container it was done in a huge huge rush - in the rain! tightly packed loose parts, moulds, tools, random shiz knocking round a container for around a month..
i just hoped the moulds id brought back were okay. the parts i already knew needed work as we made the decision over there to not properly 'finish' the parts till we got back to aus, just to crank out as many as we could while we were there to get the numbers up..
then due to 'complications' there were delays on the countainer landing in aus and it was held for a while, so when it finally rocked up, youve never seen ANYONE so excited to see a truck before!!

well, wasnt as bad as i expected..

.. then came the task of trying to actually make some kind of order out of the mess >_<

yay for being little enough to climb around inside the racking.. and YAY for racking ^-^
So quite a few hours later we were done.. i just wanted to sit back and bask in the awesomeness of the walls of kits =D

love it <3

02 August 2010

Intro?

Okay so how are u supposed to start these things?

So i talk alot about fibreglass and usually people either a. Don’t understand or b. Aren’t interested. Lol.

So teh interwhebs can deal with it =]
There will just be random glassing stuff, mine and maybe some other shiz.

I <3 fibreglass!! Best thing/product ever.
I truly believe if you are a good fibreglasser, you can make or replicate anything.

About me?
Hmm. Im little :) usually all smiles with a touch of temper here and there.
I like cars.
i like to build [and break] things..
My fav grade sandpaper is 120, i love the smell of freshly cut or grinded metal, tyres and fibreglass. My fav tool is the grinder with a flap disc although the best tools hands down are air tools.
I believe every house should have a proper toolset [or reminants of] and how some people get by without even a set of screwdrivers amazes me. Or a socket set.
Ive spent alot more time building peoples cars than driving, but im getting there.
My favourite car ive owned, was my red ae86 Neko, who i still think of daily.
I think nothing is hotter than mesh with dish.
I prefer cars pre-paint stage, so you can see the work that’s been put into them.. and im a ‘Yota girl, deep down.
Ive had my license for 7 years.. and ive had 8 cars. 4 of which were Toyota =) and 5 out of the 8 were red. [Trust me, DOESNT go faster: P]

and last of all, my top 5 cars [of which there are 6 or 7 lol]

240z – aw11 – ae86 – mk3 supra – starion GSR-VR wide body.. and 350z.. and my secret love, the Mitsu RVR [when done right]

==============================================================

A short history on my glassin’..

the buisness <3

Other industry experience i have is.. uhh.. let me think lol

Quality Acoustics – spray painter and finisher [most exp with acrylics although some 2pac]

Craft fibreglass – hand laying panels for trains and buses and vacuum infusing train fronts, grinder/finisher

Fibreglass A/Asia – alot of grinding and finishing, and some mould making for various things, most random was a repair on a fibreglass merry go round horse.. and various caravan interior panels [shower etc]

Talon – hand glassing kits and mould maintenance, took care of the ‘drift’ side of things as talon was mostly OEM kits

Armour – Parts for the military and armoured cars, attack panels for banks etc... Mostly carbon and Kevlar work, majority vacuum bagged/infused

Plus mate’s cars/custom work/sponsor cars/etc... Sure there’s more but that’ll do. But yeah.. glassin’ since 03. April 03 to be exact :) [random?]

So.. uh.. enjoy? Lulz.
